Mr. Jones is a renowned expert in all areas of the Zones program. Mr. Jones has focused on providing Foreign-Trade Zone expertise to clients in all areas of the Zones program since 1986.
Mr. Jones is a past president of the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones, and was unanimously elected as an Honorary Life Member in 2000. He is the 7th person in the Association's 28-year history to receive this honor.
During Mr. Jones's tenure as President of the NAFTZ, he led the Association through negotiations with the Legislative and Administrative branches of the Federal Government through the passage of the North American Free Trade Act, The Uruguay Round Legislation that replaced the General Agreement on Trade and Tariff with the World Trade Organization. More recently, Mr. Jones has been recognized for the passage of the Weekly Entry provision contained in the Trade and Development Act of 2000.
Mr. Jones specializes in integrating business-oriented FTZ procedures into the operations of companies that use Zone procedures for manufacturing and distribution operations, and in the preparation of FTZ applications. He entered the Foreign-Trade Zones program in 1986, when he began operations for Foreign-Trade Zone No. 82 in Mobile, Alabama.
